This piece is made of Florida Mahogany from a small log given to me from the wreckage of hurricane Helene.
Most of this vase is turned on the lathe, but the wavy effect at the top is all manually shaped and carved - a process that takes more time than the lathe work.
The vase is has a three inch bore nearly to the bottom.
